News: I get the hint

Hi,

To today I was told about six times you should get your friends to voice act in your Machinima and other works, and yes your right but only a handful of my friends are interested about Machinima but less are willing to acting in them. I will try to get some new voice acters to play characters, in the future but please don't E-mail me about it again. News: BIDs problems

Hi,

Well if you readed the title I beat your thinking, "he thinks its shit and you should stick to Machinima, well screw that don't make any videos". Well no reallly, the problem with "BIDs" is its not in wide screen like what I (we) film it in, so some time this week I'm going to upload the Quicktime file, witch had the widescreen, insted of the wmv file. Yeah well thats it for news apart from I'm doing so little updates around the site, like getting rid of The Movies Officail site links and some other things of that naturer.

News: The end of an era

Hi,

Today I was informed that The Movies official Homepage closed its curtain for the final time, that's right The Movies official Website has shutdown. After "three years – 2005 to 2008 - almost two million visitors and over a years worth of unique movies posted (that’s 33,025,270 seconds)". Its really sad to think that's where we (NMCP) started out and meet people with the same intentions to make and tell a good story, but now its gone.

Also I'm abit piss off because I never spent any VC (Virtual Credit) online and I had 78,000, I was saving up for the "Modern Offices". So anyway I'll like to say my final good-bye

"Good bye, The Movies Online, It was an amazing experience while it lasted and thank you for everything."

As fellow users find out about the news, there also feeling sadden by the news but TMO has one more thing to say,

TMO - "We‘d like to thank everyone who has posted a movie or visited the site over the past three years".

TMO has allowed everyone to upload there video onto Machinima.com, You Tube and TMUnderGround, so this isn't the end of The Movies.

Also before everyone E-mails me about Unhuman, I have some news about the series that I've been wanting to say for a while now... So here its it... Unhuman will be ending next year, I was going to announce this next year but with the site closing I think this is a good time to announce it.

The details so far is that Unhuman will end next year with a four part special, the Christmas special isn't apart of the four episodes. So basically there will be four more episodes that will make up season two and at the end of the four part the series will end.

The reason for this is I really only intended to do three season of Unhuman but after eighth episode being to crap and that made me see how limted I'am in The Movies made me think about ending it at season two. Also I thought instead of making the series pass its welcome I'm going to send it out with a bang. I do have details for the first episode its called "Moonrise", and... well that's all I'm giving away for now until after the Christmas Special. Sorry for all the bad news, but what you go to do about it.

Hi,

Some of you have E-mail be asking "Where is "Purple & Annoying" episode one on Machinima.com?"and the anwear is I don't know myself, I'm going to contact Machinima and see what wrong its probaly the file I sent them. Also I'm going to work my ass off at Trust and Purple Episode Two for the nexts two weeks, because I want at least episode two od Purple out before christmas. News: No "Trust" this week

Yeah... There not go to be a trust this week because of time, because by the time I finished filming there wasn't enough time to do the voices. News: New You Tube Features

Hi,

You Tube has a new wide screen feature that's made my life living hell, for now on I have to make two versions. One for Machinima and all the other sites, and one plus for You Tube. So yeah... anyway I'm going to film Trust Episode Two tomorrow and will be up at the weekend, hopefully. Also not many of you will not know is when the New Xbox Experience (NXE) was updated, the Xbox doesn't share content across accounts, unlike the old Xbox where it share it across all porfiles on the hard drive. So the "Halo 3 map packs" don't share across accounts, so if this is the case then I've got to buy the legendary map pack again for all my other accounts but at least the Heroic map pack and Cold Storage map are free. This is going to cost allot because of all the other content I've got to buy again, O'well.

New Mad Cowpictures 2nd birthday

Hi,

Well its been two year since I started NMCP and what a two years. It was two years to day when I started "New Mad Cowpictures" on the game The Movies and kicked off from then. For about a year I worked offline, making films to show friends or to have a good laugh.

Until I signed to The Movies under the user name "Weirdman" and uploaded one of our newest films "Escape Form The City" that was a hugh success, from there we started to grow making new friends like Sidy Productions, A Way of Life Studios and Lead Muel Movies. Sadly some of them have stop production but I still remember the early days of all this, I wouldn't have got through with out all those people at the start thank you. We released allot of films and shows but more important I've had allot of fun doing it. Well let start giving out the presents, so to speak.

Well the big new I wanted to say I'll on the subject of giving out stuff, is a official New Mad Cowpictures website not a Blogspot, Wordpress or anything else of that nature. A 100% domain just for us, it will still have the forums but might have some new features to go a long side it. I've been secretly working on this for quite sometime well ever since I started to use this site. I would like to say that its not finished or really started but its in the building stage, I will have some pictures up soon or when I get some of the BETA site that people will get invites to.

Well hopefully tomorrow "Purple & Annoying" will be out, after two months of long and painful production time. Well overall I love doing what I'm doing and hope to go on and do more film related careers, thank you for your support.

Well only five days until NMCPs second birthday, I have made only 3 wallpapers and 2 videos so far for the 11th. Also if your a fan of Digitalph33r (which I am), you should know that his production forums are closing down but someone made a shout out to everyone on the forums. Q: What games do you use to film?

A: There is only a hand full of games that you can actually film with, but I've used;

Halo 2 (Xbox/ PC)
I use Halo 2 mainly for a substitute for Halo 3 because there aren't any features that you can use for Machinima apart from you can lower you gun on Xbox Live and you can drop your weapons.

Halo 3 & ODST (Xbox 360)
I use Halo 3 because there are a few features that are made with Machinima in mind, the main two are Theater Mode, and Forge.

There are a few flaws with Halo 3 as a form of Machinima, one is unlike Halo 2 you can only lower you gun on local play or system link. In local play there is only a maximum of four players. The best option is you have the money is to use system link. In system link the maximum player count is 12 or 16 (I can't remember). You will need for that method multiple Xbox 360s since the player count is only four on one unit.

There nothing stopping you from playing online but you will have to put up with problems like lag & every character having there guns ponited at each other.

The other flaw is is that you will need some sort of capture device to get what you filmed onto your PC because the Theater Mode film is something that only the Xbox 360 can read with Halo 3. As of recently if you have Bungie PRO you can download your film clips from Halo 3 & ODST from Bungie.net onto you PC.

I haven't tried this method, but it seems too much of a pain in the way that you would have to record the clip on Halo 3 for each cut or different shot you want to use & there could be up to 20 shots in a minute. This would get annoying seeing that there are only 24 or 25 slots on your Fileshare, you would be better off buying a capture device but this just is my opinion.

The Movies: Stunt & Effects expansion pack (PC)
I use The Movies because it was made for this reason, but you do have to MOD it to make your movie look unique. Just a big heads up you will get a set number of choices and you will have to put them together and then edit them to make you move, you don't have any real control over the film. So don't use this if your trying to make professional work. To make overlays visit here but you will need the Stunt & Effects Expansion Pack for most MODs and Overlays to work.

Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360/ PC)
I've only used this once but it is still another great way to make Machinima but it tricky. GTA IV has a few Machinima features, the main one is Cinematic view when you press B in a vehicle but this only lasts for about 2 seconds or until your out of view of the camera until it changes to a different shot and if you record all that it looks like you haven't put any effort int it.

I'am well aware that on the PC version there is a film editor mode that you can use then download on your PC. This would be that better option if you can run on your PC. But overall GTA IV is a tricky way to make Machinima but if you can pull it off then it will look great.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)

Q: What software do you use?

A: Well I use a whole range of software for my videos, but for editing Adobe Premiere Elements V4.0 and or Sony Movie Studio Platinum. Capturing voices I use Windows Sound Recorder, and I edit the voices or sound effects using Goldwave.

Up until I got my capture card I had use AoA ripper to rip the videos off my DVD recorder and onto my PC. Visual effects, overlays or image are created in Adobe Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Fireworks CS3, and to get overlays in to The Movies: Stunts & Effects Expansion Pack I uses DDS Converter 2 which converts them into a file that the game will register. I get copyright free music by either downloading them from websites but most of the time I make myself by using MAGIX Music Maker 12 Deluxe.

Q: What Hardware do you use?

A:I use a lot of different hardware to film & capture. I've listed the different media formats below & what I recommend.

Live Action
When I'm filming a college project I use a Sony PD190 MiniDV Camera, they're great quality cameras but are going to set you back a bit, I would only recommend these cameras if you're serious in filming & you can afford the HD cameras.

Panasonic DMC-FX10 camera, that I would highly recommend ether is you not going to film with it. I also use a Hama stand for low down filming and for outside filming I use a Star 42 stand. I capture voices by using a £15 Logitech headset that I got from PC world.

Animation

Machinima
I use two types of hardware to capture my Machinima. Up until I got my capture card I did use a Dolphin R Mini- DVD Recorder, which is cheaper and essayer then buying a capture card but this does have two major flaws. first you will need to finalize the disc before your PC can register it, this does mean that you can't use the disc again after you finalize it. Second you will also need to use some sort of ripper to import them onto your PC I did use AoA Ripper.

I'm currently using Pinnacle Video Transfer which has only two flaws, the first is you will need an external storage device. I did try a USB pen but some don't work and you will have to have more than 5 GB but for the best result you will need a external Hard Drive. I have a 180 GB, I think and this gives the best results.

The other flaw is that you will need three red, yellow and white splitters. The reason behind this to be able to record sound you will need to this or you will have to choose over which you want more sound through the TV or on your video. But you can do this and solve this problem, to have all of splitters to go into the TV and then the Xbox 360 RC jacks go into one side of splitters and then in the other splitters you put the video transfers RC jacks into the other RC ports.

I would highly recommend this way for anyone who want a good quality make a Machinima or if you have some old VHS tapes that you want to convert onto DVD or your PC, I got mine from PC world for £100.

If you didn't know there was secret game night, to get invite your need a special invite from me. Last night, and it was a big success. I sadly did have high lights recorded but I fucked it up when I forgot to SAVE them, I was really pissed off but what you going to do. I would like to say there will an open community games night when I know there are enough people online to have a decent game. Video: Trust Episode One

Hi,

I've finished Trust and now uploading it on to Machinima & You Tube, there is a problem that I will stop uploading at 26% so I might split it up into two parts. I also have made a dircetors commentary to "Empty" because I hate people saying that I'm shit at making machinimas, this will explain all the thing that where wrong with it. News: Back on track

Hi,

I was able to export the unfinished Purple & Annoying episode and was now can pick up from where I lost the data, yeah. In other news I've got one new show that is base on first person shooters first levels, where you find out what the hell is going on and find your weapons. The new series that is three episodes along is called "Trust", people may think its like Blackstone by Dispatch Films but I'm not trying to copy them or rip on the idea. I will probably end up saying that again but O'well. Thats all for to day, bye.

News: The dry spot

Hi,

Lots of you have been very calm about the Purple & Annoying problems but people have been saying why aren't you making Liberty City Shorts well my Xbox that I film on freezes when I put GTA IV in the disc try so I haven't had a chance to fix that, I have been thinking of dropping Liberty City Shorts until I know what to do. But I will make another show to go in its place, I have been thinking up a show that would be essayer on me and you can have something to watch. Thats all the news for now, bye.

News: Ah!!! this is killing me

Hi,

Over the last week the I haven't been posting because I've been try to fix the problems, that right there back but now I'm saying "SOD IT, I'm sick of filming the same scene over and over again". So I went and brought Sony Vegas, awesome. So I'm back working on "Purple & Annoying" so look forward to that. Also I've worked out how to film in wide screen on the camera so future episodes will be film in wide screen.

News: Can't stay way

There some good news I'm going to post all my college work on You Tube for everyone, I don't have one at the moement because I've only just started. News: Starting College

Hi,

Right heres the deal I'm starting college on the 3rd so I won't be able to work on anything in production, but if have a week off work and don't work on anything in production and this week get settle into the college then come back to work the week after. Then back to work on Purple & Annoying.

I would just like to say I've been working on a lot on Purple & Annoying episode one and future episodes. I've also been working on Liberty City Shorts, all I like to say is the next episodes is called Xbox live.

News: Feeling bad...

Hi,

All week I've been feeling bad about Purple & Annoying not working, so I've been trying to work on anything that will go on You Tube but O'well now I'm back working on Purple & Annoying. Also I'm confirming 2 new episodes have been add to the season, instead of 6 episode there are now 8. Episode five is called Bad Company and episode six is called Machinima. this is to make up for the problems but I've had to add 1 more episode to Liberty City Shorts as well to meet the time differences between Purple & Annoying.

News: I think I fixed it

Hi,

I think I fixed the problem by deleting all the new recording, this does mean I will have to record them again (crap!!!) but I will do that tomorrow because I'm realy busy today about writting more Purple & Annoying episodes so there might be Seven to Eight episodes.

I'm also writting more Liberty City Shorts and some other stuff. Also I'm going to fix up the Video Volt with a better layout starting with Unhuman, so look out for that.
